Our first summer school of the Human Ancient DNA, Ancestry, and Mobility (HAAM-) community titled “Connecting the Past, the Present, and the Future” will take place from the 17th - 19th of June 2024 (all times in CET) virtually. The summer school is targeted at students and early career researchers interested in exploring the latest methodological advances in the field of ancient human DNA.

The summer school consists of various sessions by leading experts in the field:
- aDNA data processing - James Fellows Yates & Selina Carlhoff (MPI-EVA, Germany)
- Ethics in aDNA research - Krystal Tsosie (Arizona State University, USA)
- Genetic relatedness and demography estimation - Şevval Aktürk (Hacettepe University, Turkey) & Harald Ringbauer (MPI-EVA, Germany)
- aDNA data curation - Clemens Schmid & Ayshin Ghalichi (MPI-EVA, Germany)
- Imputation - Bárbara Sousa da Mota (University of Lausanne, Switzerland)
- Population genetics and ancestry analysis - Stephan Schiffels (MPI-EVA, Germany), Jazmín Ramos Madrigal (University of Copenhagen, Denmark) & Robert Maier (MIT, USA)
